Historically Modern Era

Historically

The Extiez family had commissioned the Bhavya House to be built for distant cousins, though there are no documents supporting that famous family ever stayed there themselves. Until almost a century ago, the building had been maintained as a hotel where prompt and polite staff dressed in red, black, and white were tasked with keeping the rooms (and reputations) of the lavishly wealthy spotless. A fire in the later part of this golden era saw the wealthy clientele leave, eventually allowing the historic property to fall into disrepair. Over time, a succession of owners attempted to re-imagine the historic home as a hospital or as apartments, but the costs of restoring the protected home to it's former glory caused all ventures to fail. The main building was abandoned after a time, favoring the surrounding structures. At this point, the structures were leased out to various tenants as offices. A small finishing school focused on at-risk youth became the main leaser, eventually gaining a reputation for excellence. Wealthy patrons meant that the Bhavya Finishing School was eventually able to not only buy the surrounding land, but restore the home over a number of years while they continued to operate in surrounding structures.

Modern Era

After renovations completed in the main house, the school re-branded itself as a college. The Bhavya College, however, was short lived. Soon finishing schools were in vogue once more for the wealthy clientèle needed to maintain the grounds. Despite gaining a reputation of catering only to the ultra-rich, the school was founded on principals of equality in education, and is the first and only all-girls finishing school to provide financial aid to accepted students. As years passed and finishing schools, now seen as unnecessary, began to close around the country, the focus on troubled girls was shifted to include girls of all backgrounds. The school is now a university in all but name.
