– A lucky few are chosen at a young age to become Glyphs, students hoping to one day become world-renowned Glyphers, masters of script and the written word. Most are like rule-reciting machines – they memorize much of what they learn during practice – and most are sent off not as masters but as sufficient students who write rules and record happenings for small communities or villages. Glyphers are notoriously quiet, but respected, educated, and well paid. They begin with either a title (Master) which gives +1 on rolls when asking questions of any human or program or a bronze hollow point, a sturdy writing utensil that is unbreakable. (glyphers are chosen as children by seeing how susceptible they are to the memory loss spell)
