Kvyiandatdra are a nomadic, ultra-adaptable, deep cosmic species of unknown origin. Though they may be countless numbers of them drifting through space they have been farmed for untold generations by the Sibpab for the purpose of exploration.
Etymology
Kvyiandatdra is a name given to the species by the Sibpab. The name is related to both 'a village' and 'to go swiftly'.

History
Several theories as to the origins of the Kvyiandatdra exist, however, it is clear by their biology that the Kvyiandatdra have been deep space dwellers for billions of years. The genetic memories of a free cell could theoretically prove the truth behind the species but discovery of one is statistically minuscule. Known Kvyiandatdra have been bred from a single host by the Sibpab an estimated 1.2 million years ago. Tampering with the species has decimated what the Kvyiandatdra know about themselves as well as their desire for self-discovery.
One proposed theory suggests that the Kvyiandatdra are the first forms of life to exist in the universe who became travelers after their home was no longer inhabitable. This 'First World' theory experienced a loss in popularity as the Sibpab began to breed the Kvyiandatdra in bulk. Common theory now holds that the species either evolved naturally as vermin on the ships of a distant spacefaring people or were perhaps engineered by them.
No records of early experimentation between these species have made it to the contemporary era, although they have worked symbiotically for hundreds of thousands of years. Generally the Kvyiandatdra were bred for two reasons; to travel to new systems and planets in preparation for Sibpab larva, and to be record keepers. In both cases the non-sentient 'cells' are farmed in a controlled environment. They grow within certain parameters as they are encouraged to evolve the qualities needed for either job. Groups are then separated into 'schools' where they continue to grow; those meant to belong in Sibpab society reach 'macro maturity' while those intended for travel store energy remain barely sentient 'micro maturity'. By controlling the reproduction of the Kvyiandatdra the Sibpab have effectively modified their genetic memory to forget any purpose beyond their assigned tasks, although the process is not 100% effective. Traveling Kvyiandatdra may spend so long in deep space that all but the most primitive of memories are lost.
Because the Kvyiandatdra reproduce asexually they are natural enemies to the Sibpab in a pure biological need for space. The smaller they are, the faster they are able to bud, so an entire planet could be filled over the course of only a few years. It is considered one of the greatest examples of intelligent kindness that the two species live together as faithful friends. Today, though still bred in Sibpab 'baby farms', Kvyiandatdra are often seen in leadership roles among the upper echelon of Sibpab society.
