Arrogant Krown is a post-black metal band from Causeway, Southern Marcwith. The original members included founder Tache Vlasnossei (bass), Symons Owen (drums), and Sulaminth Thames (guitar). Following the disbanding of Tears Blood Liquor, Hayes Elko-Kerkarrian was recruited by the virtually unknown group PainAintFree. With his experience and savvy the band quickly became a headlining act under the new name Arrogant Krown.

Founding

The original members of PainAintFree met casually several times attending local concerts and eventually formed a friendship that led to their collaboration. According to Symons, the group name was inspired by a tattoo Vlasnossei regretted acquiring on his 18th birthday. Originally, the group hoped to create rhythm-heavy songs to contrast the progressive elements they hoped to incorporate with vocal distortions, abnormal instruments, and high-speed solos. Early feedback reflected the public's confusion; they made little headway in the mainstream crowd and were called "jumbled and gimmicky" by critics.

Hayes Elko-Kerarrian

After the dramatic fallout from Tears Blood Liquor, Hayes Elko-Kerarrian was left with few options as a musician. His alleged behavior had landed him on the blacklist for many popular bands, including his previous project Cumskull. Because of this, Symons admits it was easy to convince the well-known musician to attend their shows. At first the young guitarist called their group "underdeveloped with no goals and little talent", but Symons and Thames were eventually able to convince Hayes of their potential. Agreeing initially to be a producer, Hayes became increasingly frustrated with front man Vlasnossei. Vlasnossei would leave the group citing creative differences as only a minor reason, claiming that "Elko's arrogance can only be suffered by the brain-dead", adding that "babies abort themselves when he gets too close". In retaliation Hayes changed the band name and scrapped any and all work Vlasnossei had previously contributed. He himself took the position as leading man under the stage name Elko.
