The Deerless are one of the major families of Io. They are indigenous to Marcwith and were the unrivaled rulers of Vinumera until the Warring Era. As cultures continued to co-mingle, the genetically pure Deerless became extinct. Today, they exist as coalescent pockets among a mostly human population.
Historically, the Deerless made great strides in scientific and medical research that resulted in years of experimentation and enslavement during the Warring Era. This would later be considered one of the cruelest time periods of history.
Biology
They are tall, no adult would be shorter than 6 foot, and their complexion is incredibly clear. They have vuilenzand skin in ranges of medium to deep brown that is especially susceptible to vitiligo. By late adulthood, many Deerless turn almost completely pale.

They abhor the sight of blood – it is a great insult to draw blood from someone. They have an obsession with hygiene and cleanliness, even going so far as to remove unwanted hairs or tattoo more attractive markings on the face.
