Asiri Asa

Asiri Asa is a collection of landmasses and islands linked culturally politically into a single continent. The continent is said to be the historic birthplace of humans as well as the Tamashp religion. It is also home to the world's first public transit system.

History

Age of Intikilla

Asiri Asa in Intikilla is marked by the creation and golden age of both the Pruci and Drepa empires of the ancient world. Countless stories of these empires' command of magic, political and cultural power, and bold religious practices decorate an elaborate yet vague history of early Asiri Asa. Most knowledge of this Era is lost to time after the supervolcano disaster decimated much of the continent, forever changing the landscape of the area. Pruci and Drepa became the famous 'basin' that forged so many stories of religious and supernatural causes including the well-known Gaiagara explanation.

Following the destruction of the powerful empires of the Invictus Era, few known societies were able to create a foothold in the immediate aftermath of the supervolcano disaster. Most areas were damaged geographically with little to no ability to sustain long term civilization. The era is marked by nomadic tribes as populations were forced to the outer reaches of the continent. The largest population took residence in the now cut-off Fylan landmass, while others began to settle in small pockets of livable space across the mainland.

With the return of seafaring people, the formidable Fylan empire was first able to visit their nearby neighbors with areas like Brikxta and Kupati not far behind. Cultural groups continued to expand their influence as they grew in geographic segregation from one another. Toward the end of the era, some of these smaller communities began skirmishes with one another over land and resources that finally resulted in long-term conflict.

Age of Enlightenment

The Age of Enlightenment saw massive development of the varying cultures of the Asiri Asa. With the rise of Tamashp, the first foregrounds for routes from one territory to another were laid down. By 400 AE, most cultures were already becoming dependent on these travel routes. It is also within this short time period that Queztali, with a small company at his side proposed the Redline Trains, only a few of which still remain. Other famous figures, such as the royal family of Taipiapre, the controversial Miracle Worker, and Tamazi himself feature prominently over this short period of years.

By 1000 AE the previously lucrative slave trade was abolished in almost every territory, prompting a more insular view from most cultures. The turbulent years of Troe's conflicts and civil unrest in the east took their toll on every part of the nation, prompting dramatic change.

The next several centuries saw massive changes and social upheaval as the diaspora of long-standing cultures took shape. Historians blame this period of upheaval for many of the unanswered questions lingering over the events of the earlier centuries. Many mysteries, such as how the Redline Train was built and how it functioned, still remain unsolved. As cultures continued to mix, however, many areas reacted with a departure from traditional beliefs to non-secular practices. In many cities across the continent, temples and other places of worship went defunct along with the Redline as united cultures rebelled against the old symbols of war and slavery.

However, the economies of the various Asiri Asa territories were inexorably linked. Shipping through various waterways become the popular mode of transport until the advent of commercial flight.

Redgrah Brixta uses the redline to sell Todao medicines and herbs in bulk, greatly decreasing the use and price of

magical artifacts and other herbs/spices (Todao is cut off from the rest of the world except by boat, the only passable place is in Redgrah). This drives the eastern countries with weak empires into poverty. Troe begins to turn its attentions to the west instead of the east, seeing a far wealthier conquest. In this they will fail, Brixta will be too powerful to hold and Todao too impossible to besiege(not revealed).

Religion

Until 0 AE, the major religions in Asiri Asa were versions of Mageroa and Echtoa. Most cultures had similar mythology but varying practices based on the evolution of the geographic location. Asiri Asa was also famed for many cultures that took on incredibly reverence of the monster Gaiagara, creating notable cults that thrived until the early years of the AE era.
